​SUMMARY:  

This position is mainly a technical, office-situated position. The DCP Engineer will be responsible for monitoring operators' production, drilling, and completion activities in assigned area(s), from the viewpoint of a non-operating working interest owner. This position requires high analytical skills utilizing Spotfire and Excel to analyze incoming operator data.  It also requires quality interpersonal skills backed by solid technical experience in the E&P industry that will allow the individual to effectively interact with the operators.  The position also requires the ability to organize and maintain company data bases for drilling/completions activities, costs and production, and to analyze and report the result of analysis to management in a meaningful manner.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The DCP Engineer will be directly accountable to the DCP Manager for the following essential duties and responsibilities in the assigned area (s):

  • Utilizing Spotfire and Excel to review operators' production and performance of completions,

  • Review numerous operators' incoming AFE proposals for Drilling, Artificial Lift and Facilities.  Make appropriate recommendations based upon economic merit.

  • Where necessary, formulate recommendations for optimizing completions and artificial lift designs and cost reductions, and discuss such with the operators.

  • Monitor production tie-in lines and production surveillance and any reasons for irregularities.

  • Responsible to maintain company production data base, utilizing services from Engineering Tech

  • Responsible to maintain company drilling/completions activities and costs data base, utilizing services from Engineering Tech, as needed.

  • Actively interact with the operators to perform all duties.

  • Analyze drilling/completions, costs, and production data and report to management in a meaningful manner.

  • Using their education and experience, mentor and assist the less experienced staff to grow into their roles.

  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to work independently or with little or no supervision

  • Proficiency in Spotfire, Excel and all other Microsoft Office skills.

  • Demonstrated experience as a Production Engineer is a plus.  Working with LOE and capital budgets.  All aspects of Artificial Lift, Production and Facilities.

  • Advanced knowledge of Gas Lift and Rod pump designs.

  • Demonstrated experience working in unconventional and conventional fields. 

  • Possess refined interpersonal verbal and written communication skills, principally writing skills and telephone communication skills

  • Excellent technical aptitude for the analysis of operator data, including production surveillance, drilling/completion design, and the formulation of cost optimization proposals.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Approximately 10 year experience in the oil & gas E&P industry, with Production/ Operations/ or Reservoir engineering experience.

  • Preferably, the candidate will have experience in a position that was accountable for that company's interests in a certain project, asset, or JV.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, other engineering field with the above referenced experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Fluent verbal and written skills in English.

 

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

CPE is a plus
